Nicki Minaj had a night at the American Music Awards, picking up two trophies during Sunday night’s show which was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Young Money’s First Lady kicked off the ceremony by sporting a pair of speakers on her much-talked about posterior. The Pink Barbie was accompanied by internationally renowned DJ David Guetta serving an energetic live rendition of their single “Turn Me On.” She was later honored as favorite rap/hip-hop artist, besting a group that included mentor Lil Wayne, and won favorite rap/hip-hop album for Pink Friday. Other winners included Maroon 5 for favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Taylor Swift for country female artist, Lady Antebellum for favorite country band/duo/group, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for Loud, and Beyonce for favorite soul/R&B female. As Ms. Minaj’s flamboyant introduction ceremony already has indicated, the ceremony would offer some impressive live performances as well. Watch some of them below.
