Three days after being arrested for drug possession and questioned for murder, Vybz Kartel was officially charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, and illegal possession of a firearm by Jamaica’s Major Investigation Taskforce (MIT) last night. As Billboard points out, the Jamaican dancehall artist is one of a group of men that police allege murdered the businessman and promoter Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton in Portmore – a suburb of Kingston, Jamaica on July 11. Despite several prior arrests, this is his first criminal charge.
