Pierre Balmain 2012 Spring Announcement

Paris Fashion Week saw the announcement on Sunday of the Balmain diffusion line, Pierre Balmain. The collection can initially be described as a greatest-hits range and is being positioned at a price point that is one-third of the price of regular Balmain pieces. The Spring 2012 collection brings with it a rock-inspired aesthetic and has a strong focus towards black leather outerwear, zebra-print patterns, plaid button-ups and zipper-laden motocross denim. The Pierre Balmain also tapped photographer Inez van Lamsweerde and director Vinoodh Matadin to highlight the collection with a video series that follows model Abbey Lee Kershaw and her band, Our Mountain.
