On November 8 and 15, respectively, Florence + the Machine’s sophomore album, Ceremonials, will hit stores in the UK and U.S. The promotional run for the album began in late August when its first single, “What the Water Gave Me,” was released to the world. A few weeks later came the second audible taste of the project in the form of the momentous “Shake It Out.” Last week, The Weeknd put out his own rendition of the song, which Florence Welch herself seems to be pleased with and is already thinking of music video ideas for. Today, however, comes the official video for the original version of the track. These enchanting visuals find Ms. Welch in a mansion full of masked men and women in the midst of an unearthly dance party. Although Consequence of Sound points out that viewers might make comparisons between the video and the work of acclaimed filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, and the folks over at Idolator see a Shakespearean influence in it, the eerie, cinematic clip certainly serves as an impressive compliment to the song.
