Since the announcement at the Bread and Butter trade show in July, there’s been plenty of internet chatter surrounding the launch of Hanon’s Gel-Lyte III. Further details are now available that spotlight the collaboration between Aberdeen-based Hanon and worldwide shoe juggernaut ASICS, for what they’ve deemed the “Wildcats.” Inspired by Scottish running club the “Wildcats,” as well as paying homage to an animal that is native to the Scottish Highlands, the Gel-Lyte III is every bit a tribute as it is a fashion statement. Featuring a subtle mix of soft suede and 3M reflective tonal detailing, the mustard and burgundy colorway complements the paneling of the silhouette while linking to the animal that feeds its inspiration. The shoe will be launched at Hanon Shop on Friday, October 28 from 10 a.m. (GMT) and online from 12 noon (GMT). Hanon will also host a special in-store preview event the night before. The first 50 in-store customers will receive a limited-edition branded shoe bag, and each pair of shoes purchased from Hanon will come with its own specially produced dust bag. Check out the shop’s Facebook page for more information about the event. The shoe will then be released in limited numbers at other selected sneaker stores, including: 24 Kilates, Avenue, Azita, B-elles, colette, FOTT, The Good Will Out, Naked, No Boys Allowed, Patta, Slam Jam, Solebox, Sneakersnstuff, SeventyFive, Titolo, Wood Wood and Woei.
