Although his status as an icon is indisputable, Snoop Dogg’s current affiliation with Wiz Khalifa seems to have a reviving effect on his career as the feedback on their joint effort “That Good” implies. UK-based beatsmith Joker is always one of our reader’s favorites artists. The remix of Devlin’s “Let It Go” is no exception here. Rick Ross’ invitation to join the Maybach Music imprint has been accepted by both Wale and Meek Mills, who joined the Bawse for the collaborative track “Pandemonium”. With these prominent additions to the label, it comes as no surprise that folks were tuning in. After earning massive airplay with Far East Movement’s “Like A G6”, The Cataracs rejoined forces with Dev for the club-friendly “Bass Down Low”, which has been transformed into a dubstep-frenzy by Proper Villains.
Further highlights include Nas’ tagless “Courthouse”, the excellent mashup between Ellie Goulding and Daft Punk titled “No Guns And Horses, Just Make Love”, Jamie xx rendition of Falty DL’s “Hip Love”, a disco version of Sex Pistol’s “Pretty Vacant” by the Drop Out Orchestra and Big K.R.I.T.’s “Good Foot”.
