Tokyo-based Kinfolk share with us the process and travels which go into creating one of their well-known bike frames. The center of the story focuses on a custom 1 of 1 frame made for the New York leg of the Nike “Tied Together” Relay Race. Produced in Japan and subsequently raced in New York, the bike now resides back at Nike Stadium Tokyo where it will soon be auctioned off with the proceeds donated to the fight against AIDS in Africa. The video is currently being presented at Nike Stadium Tokyo which also features photography by Rip Zinger of the NYC race and a graffiti installation by Titi Freak of Brazil and Fantasista Utamaro of Japan. For more details regarding next month’s auction, follow the Kinfolk Twitter. Also check out the day-to-day with Kinfolk over at their HYPEBEAST blog.
