Welcome to the sixth edition of Hypetrak’s Weekly Set-series. For the sixth time in a row we present your ten most favorited and most played tracks that we have presented on our site. Let’s commence…
Undeniably one of the most respected but also most unknown names in Hip Hop producer Arthur Verocai convinced you with his superb song “Flying To LA” that his craft is indeed timeless. Similar to the week before OutKast Big Boi whetted once again the appetite for his long overdue solo debut Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. The hypnotic track “Shutterbug” belongs easily to one of his best solo songs to date. The news that a brand new N.E.R.D.-album is far away from completion led you to play the finished version of Pharrell Williams’ contribution to the soundtrack of the animated 3-D film Despicable Me. Singing and rhyming Grand Hu$tle-signee B.o.B. showed us his artistic versatility on the first single of his debut offering The Adventures of Bobby Ray thus proving that he is one of the hottest newcomers in today’s rap game. Who could not resist the already destined to be classic collaboration between Gil Scott-Heron and Nasir Jones. Both legends joined forces to remix Heron’s admirable record, “New York is Killing Me”. The collaborative track “All I Want Is You” between up and comers Miguel and J.Cole as well as Wale’s description of inter-gender drama has drawn your interest alike. Respected West Coast forces Pac Div and Cypress Hill offered respective teasers off their upcoming projects whereas established producer Alchemist teamed up with frequent collaborator Havoc to bring forth another banging remix. Below you’ll find the audible recap. Enjoy.
