Dickies, the definitive American work wear brand will introduce Dickies 1922, a capsule collection of authentic replica products manufactured exactly the same as they were when first introduced almost a century ago. Crafted and executed with the highest attention to historic detail, these limited edition pieces are the true roots of American apparel designed for the working heroes of yesteryear and for today’s discerning consumer. The collection will consist of four pieces; the “Uniform Shirt” with long or short sleeves, and the “Uniform Pant” available hemmed or cuffed. The Dickies 1922 collection will be produced in the Dickies factory in Uvalde, Texas, one of the company’s oldest, continually operating factories.

Just as they were in 1936, these garments are cut from the official narrow loom, selvage 8.2 Twill Type I Cramerton Army Cloth; developed and made of high count 2-ply yarns, dyed with the fastest dyes known and Sanforized TM for a premium finish. Originally developed as a request by the Quartermaster Depot in Philadelphia, Cramerton Army Cloth was offered in 1933 for civilians and is the original American, heavy duty classic twill. Dickies 1922 collection pieces will be available in two colors, Khaki and Suntan. They will bear the Dickies “brush mark” logo in grey, red and yellow and paper tags reproduced from the archives. The 1922 “Uniform Shirt” will retail for $175 and the “Uniform Pant” will retail for $200. The collection will be available at select retailers including Unionmade in San Francisco, The Stronghold in Venice, CA and Luther’s in Austin beginning July 15th, 2010.

Featured photographers/musicians for this campaign included Hirsham Bharoocha (of Soft Circle) shot by Peter Sutherland, Dylan Brenner (BYS) shot by Angela Boatwright and Paul Major (from Endless Boogie) by Cheryl Dunn
