Venerable British shoe label Dr. Martens celebrates its 50th anniversary this year on April 1st, 2010. When the original 8-eyelet boot rolled off the production line, the nameless boot was given the moniker “1460” based on its date of inception. Half a century later, the Dr. Martens brand has weathered a few subcultures as well as undergone more than its fair share of different iterations. A few different personalities including Style Salvage were given a tour of the Walloston factory to provide an in-depth look into the manufacturing process.
