It is hard to choose the appropriate words to describe the new video to the second collaboration between pop icons Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. For the long awaited visual treatment of “Telephone” off the latter’s “The Fame Monster”-album “Paparazzi”-director Jonas Ålkerlund created an eventful, colorful, sexy and feminist mini-movie full of intrigue, prison fights, mass poisoning that is reminiscent of 70s exploitation films. Set in what seems to be a lesbian prison the song commences right before the three minute mark with a bikini-wearing Lady Gaga partaking in a tight choreography along with tattooed backup dancers. For Beyoncé’s first appearance – coming for her partner in crime after released from prison – the song breaks for another dramatic sequence. In true Tarantino-manner both divas map out further dirty deeds in their Pussy Wagon. Expect plenty of skin-baring characters, makeout scenes and feminist elements in this nine-minute cinematic piece. “The Fame Monster” is out now.
