With many of the world’s greatest players having small-sided games such as futsal for their initial developments prior to hitting the conventional 11-aside football institution, Nike Football has recognized this with the development of a 5-aside specific shoe, the Zoom T-7. In an interview with the shoe’s creators Tetsuya Thomas Minami and Doug Wilken, they take a journey into the shoe’s creation and footwear design in general. They touch upon how the shoe was designed with small-sided games specifically in mind when the conventions of regular football are sometimes put aside.
