With the established dominance and revolutionary products put out by parent company Burton, the footwear spin-off Gravis has been more than a competent addition in keeping up with Burton’s vast network of products. Their latest Expedition Series is reminiscent of vintage hiking styles via the use of earthy tones and classic patterns. Four styles include the Cortex, Fulton, Lowdown and Chuck which are all created with various tech features.

The latest initiative from Triumvir features the launching of their Qing Marauder Street Team collection. No doubt strong connections and relationships are built through sacrifice and dually noted, is often appropriately rewarded. The Qing Marauder street team creates a relationship with compensation coming in the form of never for retail t-shirts and subsequent hoodies. The prizes may seem trivial, but at the root of it is a deeper connection from my view point as it creates a tangible product for loyalty. No idea what this “street team” will involve but check Triumvir for more details.
With all the interest surrounding Murakami’s most recent showing at the Brooklyn Museum and last years popularity of his Louis Vuitton branded products at the Los Angeles MOCA, another range of products will be available this time around. Revoling around designs combining LV’s popular monogram picture and with imagery of camo, the end product Monogramouflage will be seen over a variety of products and leather goods. The items will release January 1st at the Brooklyn Museum with a further release slated for June 15th at LV Stores worldwide. In an ironic move, a series of 10 booths will be set out in street vendor style as purveyors of the LV products.

New York artist Jose Parla’s Memory Documents opened up in Geneva late last month. Drawing from Parla’s trademark aesthetic of creating textured and three dimensional calligraphic style art, the end result are works that are inspired by the decay of urban landscapes. An extensive look can be seen of the gallery space and the ensuing after-party DJ’d by Bobbito Garcia.
