Spotting of the Air Yeezys endorsed by Kanye West have been popping all over the place, but this is the first sighting of the glow in the dark technology in effect. A cross between McFly’s, Air Bapes, and a UFO, Nike has the fashion, Sci-Fi and sneakerheads going crazy over reports of this new high-topped phenomenon.
Philadelphia is the birth place of many notable peoples including The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Roots, and Noam Chomsky. Now it is also home to the newest Stussy store. Stussy opened its doors in Canada and Washington DC lately and the Philadelphia location is its third this year and we are only in the fourth month of 2008. Maleable fluorescent lighting is used to decorate the interior, and we get a little peak at Stussy’s official site. Expect much much more from the originators in the fields of fashion and culture, stay tuned.
It’s been a busy week for the whole crew at CLOT with last night marked by the grand re-opening of their newly renovated retail front Juice. As referenced by an earlier interview with CLOT co-owner Kevin Poon, the new shop is an updated reflection of the direction CLOT has taken with a more minimalistic and refined approach. For those who have had the chance to view the pre-renovation CLOT, a drastic change sees the removal of the wooden concept into a clean cut white approach. The store is open as of Saturday, April 19th.

Here are some orthodox frames from Stussy with a contemporary update. Following suit of the “Michael”, “Naomi”, and “Kiyonaga”, Stussy now brings you the “Hiroshi” as in marketing monster Hiroshi Fujiwara. As one would expect, the details are small with high impact. Simplicity is key with everything involving HF and its the small details that always count. They will be available first at Stussy Japan’s stores on the 19th then Honeyee’s online store the 21st of April.
With impending troubles on the horizon between Solebox and Nike Germany, Solebox has returned to one of its greatest skills as collaborator extraordinaire. It seems more often then not every sneaker to come under their influence of the German sneaker shop has yielded smart and cohesive colorways, albeit with a strong affection to purple. Their latest collaboration with Asics on the Gel Lyte III features a purple/gray suede sneaker. However beyond a nice colorway is a color sensitive upper/midsole that turns purple in the sun. Two different styles were created, a special Solebox exclusive with the stores name featured on the heel and sole that will only be available through the Berlin retailer as well as a version devoid of Solebox symbolism that will be available at Asics’ finest dealers around the world. No word yet on a release date however by all accounts it should be arriving soon. Check Solebox for more details.
