The always popular line of Visvim backpacks have been updated for the 2008 spring/summer collection. The majority of these bags are created in low-key understated colors albeit with attention garnered by the use of colorful zippers. Both the Ballistic 20 and Ballistic 25 (formerly know as the K Pack) are available in black/blue, green/orange and tan/yellow. Available now at select Visvim dealers including Re In Force.
A new update has taken place at Berlin’s Nike iD Studio. New materials and colors go hand in hand to provide a more thorough experience. A vast palette of colors has been updated as well as the inclusion of nubuck, full grain leather and other fabrics. Unfortunately the studio is only for invites only.

In a second collaboration, Japanese fashion label Undercover has re-aligned itself with well-known sandal makers Birkenstock. The printed leather portion references a pattern previously seen on their Chukka model. A hard sandal to pull of either way, look for these to hit select Undercover accounts soon.

A new series of features are embedded in the newest Kiefers, known as the “Patala”. Colors on the domestic versions are always subtle but there have some brighter insertions as you can see on the heel cap of the dark green model and on these really cool front zips. We’ve seen the side apertures on the Masterpiece collabos, later borrowed by Cause and even Wings & Horns, but Visvim is using their own original idea for this release. It’s a definite hit, and though brightly colored, it is revealed mainly to the wearer exclusively, since the zip is camouflaged by the laces. The toe cap is an EVA pylon material, and the vulcanized overall structure of the shoe provides lightweight and comfort technology.

In a visitation back to its foundation as a college bred performance basketball sneaker, Nike introduced the Rivalry Pack. Sourcing out the biggest fanatics, team players and athletic departments at three colleges, the end result was a product highly reflective of the colleges at hand. The three schools memorialized include Syracuse University, University of North Carolina and Georgetown University. These Dunks were honored with a special dinner where select guests were each gifted with a pair, most likely creating an insatiable envy amongst the schools biggest fans.
