The “Gag Me With A Toon” art show kicked off Saturday April 5th with an opening reception at the Melt Gallery off of Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. This show is an amazing collection of artwork featuring iconic cartoon characters from the 80’s. The show was curated by Steven Daily who assembled works from such artists as Craola, Jeff McMillan, Kyle Ng, Jon Schnepp, Jim Mahfood, Mike Kelley, Steven Daily and many more. Cartoon legends from The Smurfs, The Transformers, G.I. Joe, The Snorkels, Disney’s Snow White, and others are all represented in a whole new light. The show runs through April 27th. Here’s a look at a handful of releases that dropped this past Sunday at Bape Hong Kong. These all came on the heels of a huge Saturday event at the Hong Kong flagship store which included an appearance by Bape founder Nigo. On the 11th of April 2008 Sabre Vision opened its International concept showroom, DON’T PANIC, in Newport Beach, California. DON’T PANIC, open to the public, showcases limited edition styling, brand collaborations and Sabre apparel, all of which are available for purchase. With an all-black atmosphere, the dark feel to the space is broken by a unique water feature – a toilet fountain.
