wings + horns 2008 Fall/Winter Tiger Fleece Hoodie
Helping drive the presence of Canadian and Vancouver fashion, w + h show exactly why they’re a label to be reckoned with. With one of the best fleece programs in the world, the details they incorporate go a long ways into ensuring a complete and quality product which is why the Tiger fleece is a hit every time it comes around.
Gravis has really created a strong case for themselves in recent times. Much of their marquee products have encompassed not only footwear but a number of well-designed bags that compliment and complete the collection. Despite picking a handful of colors, Gravis did a great balancing act on the shoes which fortunately didn’t turn out over the top.
Benny Gold 2008 Fall/Winter Collection Part 1
The man behind many of your favorite graphics, Benny Gold has turned the corner and developed himself into what looks like will be a consistent seasonal collection. I anticipate big things from Benny Gold who has always had a great job of linking together aesthetics and concepts together in a very organic manner.
SSUR x DC Shoes Artist Projects Series
Every one of SSUR’s footwear collabos with DC Shoes has been a hit in my books. This is no exception. The pleasing profile offers a great template for SSUR to whip together some well-matched colorways.
Alyasha Moore for adidas Originals by Originals Preview
I think it has been a great move for brand’s to start giving more and more creative control to guest designers. We’ve seen the success of the most recent Vans Syndicate WTAPS series where all new footwear concepts were developed. In this latest look at the highly-respected Alyasha Moore collection for adidas Originals, we don’t see new colors of a Superstar but rather new models that do a better job in progressing the world of sports-inspired/lifestyle footwear.
After showing Damon Dash the door, PRO-Keds are looking to do big-things. Adamant that a new direction is key, whispers of big projects are already in the pipeline. They’ve started off on the right step with this classic offering.
COMME des GARCONS x Nike Dunk High 2008
Given free reign, COMME des GARCONS’ 2008 transformation of the Dunk is arguably better then the overbearing multi-buckle design of last year. Although I have trouble calling it a Dunk as the most distinguishable factors of the shoe are pretty much gone.
I don’t think you can really out-do this piece, a nice contrasting combo of some fine materials with soft buttery deerskin and Loopwheeler’s famous fleece.
Justice A Cross the Universe Documentary
Although I’m mostly indifferent to electro, I’ve watched Justice with a great deal of interest. From their crazy live shows to their branching off into the fashion world with select collaborations, this upcoming documentary I’m sure will provide some interesting insights into what makes these guys tick.
Inquiringmind Buyers Buyble Fall 2008
Hands down one of the best implementation of Flash for a feature I’ve seen. Nobody can truly compare. The Inquiringmind Buyers Buyble offered a great selection styling. In our hyper-accelerated lifestyles today, I can appreciate the time and efforts that went into the production of this piece.
Stussy Vancouver Store Build Out Photography Exhibition
I have a true appreciation for people who consider every step along the way in their goal of achieving perfection. Minute details that may go unseen to the majority are elements that are just small piece of the puzzle that are necessary to reach that next level. I’ve noticed a strong dedication to the ambiance and decor from many of Matt George’s projects and without a doubt the Stussy Vancouver location will reflect this I’m sure.
