Upper Playground Taichung Taiwan

Upper Playground have recently opened their first flagship store outside of the United States in Taichung Taiwan. This move comes as no surprise due to Upper Playgrounds previous experience with artists all around the world so this was natural progression. This new flagship store will include exclusive designs by Sam Flores, Jeremy Fish, and Estevan Oriol. Some of the things you can expect to see within walls of this store are much like the hoodies, t-shirts, bags, hats, books and housewares you see in the US locations that have made Upper Playground such a recognizable name in the street-wear industry.

Puma Clydes Upcoming Summer 2007

As the Puma Clyde ressurgence continues, here’s a look at what’s coming up for summer of 2007. The Clydes will always be a strong selling point to those who like to keep it simple since (for the time being anyways), aside from the sole, the Clyde is really only a 3 piece shoe with the toe-box, instep/outstep upper, and the Puma stripe. The upcoming colorways include purple/pink. blue/yellow, and black/red. If there’s any shoe that can give adidas Superstar’s a run for it’s money in fat laces, it’s definitely the Clyde! The Cool Kids Interview

The Cool Kids Interview

THE BRILLIANCE has a new interview up with a fresh hip-hop act out of Chicago called ‘The Cool Kids.’ This is just really good stuff here. The Cool Kids are seriously a breath of fresh air in a totally stale room full of totally uninteresting hip-hop acts. They embody a lifestyle/image that’s a bit of throw-back to the 80’s when hip-hop was all about having a good time while representing a little of the future as well, showing us something we’ve yet to see. The beats, the lyrics, the fashion, the presence, the ‘hey, just have fun’ attitude…their whole swagger – The Cool Kids are brilliant. It’s a great interview – and they’re HYPEBEAST fans! Pay attention to these guys.

Phenomenon Spring Tees

Phenomenon Spring Tees

Phenomenon just released some new tees as part of their Spring collection. The tees included in this release are the Kaffiyeh Tee featuring the controversial Middle Eastern pattern reworked into a perfect circle, the “Something Like a Phenomenon Tee” with the symbol for the number 1 or Ichiban beneath the graphic, the Guns and Roses Tee featuring soldiers with assault rifles embedded in the chintzy florals, and the Diagram Tee featuring a houndstooth like pattern of Stars, Triangles or Squares. All tees look great but I’m playing favorites with the Diagram tees. The spring line will be available at select shops like Union in NYC and Arrive the first week of April.
