“The shoe, as you may or may not know, was inspired by a can of old Aqua Net Hair Spray because during those ugly high hair 80s years Aqua Net sold 3 times as well in New Jersey than it did in any other state in America.
The shoe was designed by the three partners at NJ Skateshop, (Steve Lenardo,Troy Jankowski and myself, Chris Nieratko) with world famous Artist Todd Bratrud, who’s “Send Help” Dunk just came out. (Todd’s art can be seen at www.burlesquedesign.com and www.consolidatedskateboard.com)
The shoe will be released on March 2nd, 2006 at NJ Skateshop in Sayreville, NJ and a week later everywhere else.
March 2nd is Bon Jovi’s birthday and the reason for that release date and the whole hair spray-inspired, 80s theme is because Jon Bon Jovi is actually from our little town of Sayreville where NJ Skateshop is located.
