The Muji Award International Design Competition was recently held and the winner is Yoh Komiyama of Japan. The winner designed a “cast of skin.” It’s an outlet plug designed to do three things; 1. To Save Energy 2. To prevent dust or waste from penetrating an outlet, and 3. To maintain a connection between an outlet plug and an outlet. It was a simple design concept, but it was both innovative and environmentally friendly. Congrats to Yoh Komiyama.

The long awaited Spiky Baby Series 4 by Shin Tanaka has finally arrived at his website, and the best thing about Shins Paper Figurines is that you don’t have to have money in order to acquire them, in fact you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home, since by going to his website you have the option to “open a box†so that you can download a PDF file of the figurine to your computer so that you can cut out and glue one of the many figurines yourself.
