Bape Sta vs. AF1!!

Bape Sta vs. AF1!!

It looks like Nike and Bape are going head to head in the Air Force 1 / BapeSta market. Of course we all know, who started it all, but I’ve gotta tell you that these Bape Stas are really hot! Both kicks have hot colorways, but what they have in common is the horse hair! I remember seeing horse hair rifts, blazers (not too long ago) and some Air Force 1 samples (in the Sole provider book), but these bad boys are crazeee… Click on images to enlarge! Paris Sneaker Store Reviews Part 2

Paris Sneaker Store Reviews Part 2

Here is the 2nd part of the Paris sneaker shop reviews! Just the few stores down from Sneaker Gallery there’s ADN snkr Lab. I’ve contacted Thomas before and we had a meeting scheduled to talk about sneakers, ADN and HYPEBEAST of course! The main thing that struck me was the small space and the dark atmosphere. All the walls and floors are painted black. They told me the whole concept behind store was that the name means DNA – the core of the sneaker game and that’s why it’s called the Snkr Lab. Even the logo (DNA formed shoe laces) gives out hints that these guys are serious players in the sneaker game. The small hints here and there that only true sneakerheads could understand. adidas Surface to Air Event

adidas Surface to Air Event

The adidas Surface to Air art exhibition took place at the adidas Original Store in New York. It’s a really cool exhibit where the guys from Surface to Air took 180 pairs of white/white/gum Samoa trainers, shredded them in their boxes at a commercial shredder, and then re-constituted custom made replicas of two classics of modern design – Mies Van Rohe’s “Barcelona” chair and Le Corbusier’s “Grand Comfort” chair. They also made two 30 foot paintings and a pair of videos for the exhibit – all of which are on display at the NY store, before going to London, Berlin, Tokyo, Miami (for Art Basel), and LA.
