just got my first macbook pro. Since i was a PC user, i was struggling on how to transfer my itunes library to my new itunes from my old PC. I only manage to keep the library and all the songs are gone( like they cant locate the file of the song). so i made a new library. And now, when i try to make a new playlist i cant find some of the songs by artist. i have to Look up the specific name on the search. Anyone know how to fix this?

can't you just consolidate files on your old computer and then add the itunes media folder to your library?

Start over. If you still have all the files on your Windows machine, delete all the shit you brought over to the MacBook.

Read this article: http://lifehacker.com/242468/geek-to-live--how-to-move-an-itunes-library-from-a-pc-to-mac-and-back

Tell me if you run into any trouble with @traggi so I know you replied.

You just spent >$1500 on a computer, just spent a next $100-150 and get an external HDD, it's worth it. Copy iTunes folder to external from the Windows computer, unplug USB cable from said laptop, plug USB cable into MBP, copy iTunes folder to MBP. Now you not only have music on your MBP, but you have a backup of your music in case you ever have an issue with the MBP and need it for a replacement/reformatted MBP. I also suggest backing up everything remotely important, local backups save a lot of frustration.

If you ARE using an external to move the library and are are somehow fucking that up... I don't know what to tell you.

there's a button to consolidate your library and it will copy it all to whatever your itunes folder is

Pictures, music, documents, installation files, and downloads, backed up to external, UbuntuOne('cloud') and on my laptop. I don't backup video because there's just too much(>2TB), but I really should buy another HDD, I hate having that much data on a single drive that could fail.

And OP, as BlackDave said, consolidate the library, then you should be gravy.
