I am 18 and I just got a job at walmart 6 months ago and now there asking me to be a department manager full time making around $10-11 I was wondering can I be a manager full time;40 hours and go to school for aerospace engineering or do I just stay were I'm at. I will have almost complete control on my days off and will start everyday 7-4. Is it to much?

40 hours of work + (I'm assuming) 40 hours of school sucks.

Walmart just doesn't pay jack shit either way. They also don't give a fuck about any of their employees. I'm sure he could find a job mowing lawns on the weekends or some shit for more money if he really wanted to. Working 40/hrs a week plus a full course load is hard.

What job at the hospital are you looking for?
Where do you go to college? If you're working 7-4pm, you must be taking community college?
Or are a part time student?

Sounds really tough.
I'm full time student, and research/volunteering 15 hours a week is rough on me.

You're 18. Unless you need to work full time to support yourself, I'd work part time, and focus in school.
Unless you want to be working at Walmart for whole life.

Quit your job at Wal Mart, concentrate on school, get good grades, land a summer internship in an engineering field and you'll be making more money in just that summer than you would in a year at Wal Mart.

Engineering school is too demanding to have a side job and get good grades.

yeah you cant work 40 hours a week and be a full-time student.
you should be working 20 or less.
also if you can get bursary's or scholarships do that, and just participate in RELEVANT extracurriculars. Speaks volumes on your resume, wal-mart won't.

I heard the rule of thumb for college is to study 3 hours for every one hour of class you have

school is full time already especially if you study alot and full time job on top of that can get hectic. so if you can manage it do it, but you wont have any type of free time.

completing school is more important. I can tell you once you start doing management at a local retail store, your mind will be solely focused on that, and less on schooling.

Depends if you need the money or not. But you shoud also ask your parents (if this is an option) to cut you a check on the occasion to pay off your bills.

Manager for $10?

Aerospace engineering = potential bank?

Sacrifices must be made. And this is not really a hard sacrifice to make. Minimize the hours at Walmart. Go slay shit at school.
