Either way, it was a legal knockout. The referee signaled to fight, Ortiz was open and Mayweather knocked him out. Was it an impressive win? No, but in the first few rounds Mayweather did show his ability to land the right hand all throughout the night. Floyd would've won it if it kept going on but Ortiz made a stupid gesture and got knocked out as a result.
