Honestly Thailand isn't nearly as nice as it is depicted, the islands are nice if your on a private 5 star resort - otherwise the place has extreme poverty and isn't that appealing.

Would actually like to go to North Korea and see what the place is like. Apparently it is do-able via China although your constantly watched and your room is bugged.

Werd, I've heard this too. I've also heard that Koh Phi Phi got fucked because it's so crowded now and it's natural beauty has sorta been killed, still gotta see for my self though haha.

And it's pretty crazy but travelling to space may be realistic for some of us in like 20 some years.

Koh Phi Phi got fucked up hard due to the Boxing Day Tsunami on 04, like 90% of the infrastructure got totally destroyed. Apparently there are still heaps of bodies somewhere in the sea or washed ashore and tourists find them. It is still a nice place but would have been better if the locals didn't exploit the place so much.

I was there the following April and have been there many times before and after the tsunami hit and it wasn't that bad. Phi Phi is a shithole because of degenerate tourists and that fucking Beach movie. It's packed with loud, ignorant Australian hippies (no offense) and fat Germans(like most of tourist Thailand.). So many boats come in and out everyday that the cove is borderline polluted. A shame really but when your economy is almost entirely dependant on tourist money you don't have much choice.

Oh God, I want to dabble in a little bit of every where. I can't stress enough how Anthony Bourdain is my idol. I kind of want to do some "Eat, Pray, Love" type shit also. Like before my husband and I settle down we take a month off and really travel before our life truly begins. Go some where tropical, but like a place that's semi unreserved, then India and the U.K. I went to Alaska this past summer and it was truly beautiful. Reminding me that not everywhere looks like America (I know Alaska is included, not dumb)

Nah you're right man, it's a bogan retreat, as is Bali. Both places are ruined for me and i'll prob never end up going there again in my lifetime.

I'm glad i've got cheap and easy access to Japan, yearly trip for me and always have a blast but I don't know how some people go each year without getting tired of it - met some really nice uni students that showed me and my mate around town, underground izakayas and hidden bars that no foreigner would ever find unless they've been shown before. There's only so much sight seeing and shopping you can do before you realize it's not that great anymore.

Wouldn't surprise me if people on here visited Tokyo and were blown away but the shopping but it's such a tip of the iceberg and most won't see the hidden parts. Roppongi, Shibuya, Shinjuku and the Harajuku / Omotesando / Aoyama area are heavily populated with tourists but there's some decent areas with great local nightlife that most never witness.
