Going to Las Vegas. Gambling tips?

Jul 05, 2010 @ 20:21
I haven't been to Las Vegas since I turned 21 and I'm looking to play a couple games. I'm not looking to get rich, I just don't want to completely waste my money. What games are the easiest to play and could be practiced online? Success stories?

Best advice, it's a lot easier to lose money than win it.

Jul 05, 2010 @ 22:21
yeah you just sit around at a table, stick money through a slot and a midget walks around underneath giving blowjobs

no guarantees on a female, and there's usually a strict no peeking policy

definitely worth it though
Jul 05, 2010 @ 22:28
set a limit like $1000 and waste it
Jul 06, 2010 @ 00:47
watch Hard Eight, or 21, or The Hangover...
Jul 06, 2010 @ 00:49
For $50 you can play Craps at a $5 min for a solid 2 hrs if you know what your doing.
Jul 06, 2010 @ 02:03
poker is the only game where the house has no advantage.

just take your 50 and bet it on red.
Jul 06, 2010 @ 14:37

Where are you staying?

I just got back from Vegas 2 weeks ago. If you want to play cheap limits and, get drunk and come out even. There's two places on the strip.
- O'Shea's
- Casino Royale

They both have $5 minimums. Everywhere else will usually be 15 unless you go downtown or its weird hour of the day they sometimes lower it to $10.
Some things you should know for Vegas:
- Don't go and expect to not spend money.
- Don't go with cheap people.
- If your tryna club make friends in high places or you'll have to stand in line(Still doesnt guarantee you) and it'll cost sometimes up to $70-$100 some clubs to get in.
- If a girl approaches you, don't get all cocky and excited because shes a hooker.
- PUT YOUR VALUABLES IN THE SAFE! My friend got his D90, Ipod, laptop, $800, phone charger(yes even the charger) stollen while he was at the pool. And yes the door was locked but the hotel dont give a fuck.
- Wear Comfortable shoes during the day or you'll be hurting bad by the end of your trip. Even taking a taxi everywhere, you still walk alot!

Wynn/Encore & Aria are the nicest hotels hands down.

Since you sound cheap, if you want to eat on a dime. Your best bet is either doing the 24 hour buffet passes(work at all harrah owned hotels) for like $35. Or go to Chipolte or subway for $10. Don't go to Sinatras in encore. Horrible food.

Damn homie. I'm not cheap. I just don't gamble much so I'm starting off easy. I have plenty of money for everything else and I've been to Las Vegas plenty of times. I just made this thread for gambling tips.
Jul 06, 2010 @ 15:58
Oh word. well always bet as much as you can afford behind the pass line backing it. It's usually 5x your bet max.
blackjack split A's & 8's
Double down if dealer is showing 16 and you have 11 or under.
Common sense shit.. Just try to always get the best true odds.
Jul 06, 2010 @ 16:14
When counting cards in blackjack, you should work in teams. Also, it's not gambling when you know you're gonna win. Counting cards is a foolproof system!
Jul 06, 2010 @ 16:17
its hard as fuck to win blackjack with a 6 card shoe these days.

play craps...
Jul 06, 2010 @ 16:19
set a limit and know when to walk away

Also, when you start winning and then you get happier b/c the hot girl is bringing you free drinks at a faster pace... they're trying to get you drunk to fuck you your judgment. Happens all the time, aka my boy last week at AC.

if youre gonna be playing poker with the $50, join a table where you can buy-in at least 5 times juss to be safe (youre juss learning anyways). youre best bet to learn is to play low/micro-stakes tables because there'll probably be people juss like you at those tables so you dont needa worry bout pros.

1) play a tight/aggressive game, tight meaning you only play premium hands, or blackjack hands that add up to a number close to 21 - preferrably 18+ (face cards = 10, all the other cards equal their number), or pocket pairs such as 77,88,99,etc. fold all other hands cuz theyre 80% of the time worthless. aggressive means constantly raising but only if you have a good hand. playing this way can get boring but its best way to play poker (most, if not all the pros play a tight/aggressive game)

2) dont be afraid to fold if you think youre being beat. youre not gonna win by throwing more money into the pot
