can y'all do something real quick, on top of your favorite directors, for like two or three of them just add like your favorite movie by their name for obvious reason, that would be tight

pt anderson is way too overrated.

there will be blood was an instant classic, there is no doubt about it. But his others films were really shit and pointless.

im not even talking about the master which was one of the few movies that got me to sleep during the projection.

Agree with many in here. I'll add:

Hiroshi Teshigahara - Woman in the Dunes, The Face of Another
Katsuhito Ishii - The Taste of Tea
Mamoru Oshii - The Red Spectacles
Toshiaki Toyoda - 9 Souls, Blue Spring
Gaspar Noé - I Stand Alone, Enter the Void

Left out Oshii's anime works because they don't really fit with the rest of the films listed. Other than these, I've always really liked Japanese period pieces and noir, although I don't think I've watched anything 'new' in the past few years because I don't have the attention span like I used to. I cannot seem to sit through ANY film, it's bothersome, it's like I've developed ADD over the years. :/

Surprised no one's mentioned Spielberg.

I'd add him and Danny Boyle to a few that have already been mentioned.

Spielberg - Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan

Boyle - Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, 127 Hours
