Can you taper the leg or leg opening without ruining the selvedge
Most tailors will remove the selvedge. You'll have to find out yourself who to go to in your area

what would honestly matter by getting rid of the selvedge.  To have a better fit, I'd definitely do it

Personally it's a big deal to me - the selvedge (at least the visible part) is a big part of the aesthetic and what sets it apart from regular jeans.

Hello, sorry for the language, i'm french.

So, i'm a 32/31 in diesel, and when i measured those diesels on the ground, i find a true waist of 33.5.

So i size down on a APC NS, and took a 31 received yesterday.

I can close the first button ONLY, when i closed the second one, i have to lay on my bed, and if i let it closed and walk lik this, i could destroy the button.
( with a long T Shirt, facing the mirror, they fit perfect)

The thighs ? (upper leg) is where it needs a lot of stretch, and i think that s why i can"t close the buttons.
it s really difficult to make the jeans going up and passed the upper legs. I hope it will stretch.

Anyone had to deal with that kind of problem?

Thanx for your help, it s only my second day of wear.

edit:2nd day of wear:  two buttons closed, but i would need multigrip pliers to close one more button.

no no no no

Selvedge, its the edge of the fabric and its been properly stitched to last the longest, if you just cut it off and chain stitch it, the denim loses alot of its integrity.. If you buy a pair of APCs and cut off the selvedge you just lost a good amount of money.

What made you think that 2 weeks was enough? Get your shit together bruh. Stop bitching. Just wear em. I'm about 6 months in and they're my most comfortable jeans. Its not an overnight thing b. Just wear em as much as you can, soon enough you'll find yourself not wanting to take them off.

WELL HERE THAT MOTHERFUCKER IS

So I ordered a pair of APC PS in sz 30 (sized down 2). These were preowned and the previous owner claimed to have worn them for about a month. There are no signs of fading at all, but they seem to be broken in pretty well, especially in the waist.

The only problem I am having is that the calf area seems to be a little tighter than I expected. The taper is so tight to the point where it takes a few tugs to get my foot through. So my question is, will the below-the-knee area strech out anymore?

Also, how long do APC's take to form to your body? Even though the previous owner said to have worn them for about a month daily, are they still able to form to my body or did they already form to his from his previous wear?

^^ sizing down is only because the waist stretches so much...... no one wants jeans that are 2+ inches too big in the waist

It's going to take longer than 2 weeks. My st100x just started feeling good and Im about 7 months in. Give it some time and wear.

I had taken the words out of his mouth and filled it with fart.

is it true that you should never wash them because they will shrink then? (only soak)

opinions?
nah

You can wash them, just use coldest setting + low spin cycle. but soak > wash if they not to stinky.

APC's PNS size 30. Normally wear 32's in levis so sized down 2. Hopefully it stretches a little in the thighs soon and then it'd be perfect.

So just bought a size 29 PNS from Barneys and they button all the way up but are tight. I tried on a 28 beforehand and could only button up the bottom two buttons. Should I just go back and get the 28?

I also bought a pair of PNS I usually wear sz.31 and got a sz.30. I tried the 30 on and I fits tight on the thighs It's like a PS fit.. Will it stretch I thought PNS is more Slim fit/looser a bit than the PS. I can't return them in Barneys online it's way passed 30 days already. I'm 5'10" 160 pretty fit I don't have skinny thighs lol Should I haves gotten a 31 instead or will it stretch in the thighs ?

I think you should get the 29 you can't even button all the way up how are you gonna wear it if you can't even button it all the way up ? With an open fly ? Size down 1 from your original waist sz.
