Audemars Piguet Gives the Royal Oak Tourbillon an Extra-Thin Makeover
This time in platinum.
Originally introduced back in 2012, the Extra-Thin edition of Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Tourbillon has been a favorite of vintage and contemporary timepiece lovers alike — not to mention Audemars Piguet’s own CEO, François Bennahmias. Now, after debuting in both stainless steel and pink gold, the watch is available in platinum for the very first time. Echoing the aesthetic of the initial releases, the piece employs the exact same design cues aside from the case material and a new smoked grey dial. Inside you’ll find a caliber 2924 manual-winding movement — one of the slimmest tourbillon movements around.
Thin and elegant, the platinum version of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon Exra-Thin — a nice alternative to 2012’s uber-limited 40th Anniversary Openworked design — will soon be available in extremely limited quantities for $281,500 USD.
