Nas to Produce Erykah Badu-Starring Movie 'The Land' and Its Soundtrack
The upcoming indie skateboarding film premieres next month.

Recent news has come to light that Nas will be executive producing upcoming indie film The Land, which stars Erykah Badu and Michael K. Williams (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire). Directed and co-written by Steve Caple, Jr., whom Nas is a big fan of, the movie follows four boys who dream of leaving behind the streets of Cleveland, Ohio to pursue careers as professional skateboarders before they get tangled in heavy drama with the local drug queen. Badu, who has appeared in films like Blues Brothers 2000, The Cider House Rules and House of D, will star in the film alongside rapper Machine Gun Kelly and actor Moisés Arias.
Nas will also be responsible for producing The Land‘s official soundtrack. Nas and Badu are no strangers in the music industry, and knowing the Queens, New York rapper’s musical prowess, we’re expecting it to be good. The Land is set to premiere sometime during the Sundance Film Festival, which is being hosted in Park City, Utah from January 21-31.
