Google Glass Is Still Being Developed Under New Management

Despite shutting down the public beta portion of its Glass Explorer program back in January, Google has revealed that it will continue developing the wearable tech device behind closed doors. While interest in Google Glass was initially high, interest waned over time amid controversy about privacy concerns and high pricing. The project will continue under the watch of Tony Faddell, with Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt confirming that “It is a big and very fundamental platform for Google” and that while the press might have taken the end of the Explorer program as the end of Google Glass altogether, it simply “isn’t true.” There is no word yet about a possible public release date.
