While various renderings have surfaced showcasing Apple‘s new headquarters, in this short video architect Norman Foster takes us on a close examination inside Apple’s Spaceship Campus 2. A 2.8-million-square-foot spaceship-like structure with adjoining campus located in the North East corner of Cupertino, the futuristic building’s interior is outlined to increase social interaction and creativity between coworkers, while ample greenery with a sanctuary in the middle reinforces Apple’s commitment to an eco-friendly and sustainable future. Solar powered panels are just some of the clean energy sources on the campus, which will run on 100% renewable energy with aims to have no net increase in greenhouse gas emissions. Designed to be the best office building in the world, Foster speaks on early conversations with Steve Jobs on building the space, and how it draws inspiration from Steve Jobs’ time at Stanford and his upbringing in “the fruit basket of America.” Enjoy the video here and stay tuned for more on Apple’s new campus.
