Cav Empt is comprised of Tokyo-based Sk8thing, with partners Hishi and Toby Feltwell. Boasting an impressive pedigree that includes graphic design for A Bathing Ape, Billionaire Boys Club and HUMAN MADE, C.E creates playful, innovative streetwear in a genre rife with generic labels. For Fall/Winter 2012 — only the second season for the brand — the collection blends a decidedly military aesthetic with urban staples and expected graphic flourishes. Among the offerings are army jackets tweaked with textural twists and prints, a slouchy cardigan in teal, and a playful take on a poncho/anorak hybrid. Elsewhere, streetwear staples — hoodies, printed wovens and Cav Empt graphic tees — round out the collection. Following a successful Spring/Summer 2012 debut, C.E appears poised to position itself among the more distinguished Japanese streetwear brands on the market. Look for the Fall/Winter 2012 collection to hit C.E stockists as autumn approaches.
