TOKYO SLO-MODE Video by Alex Lee

September 20, 2011Artsby Edgar Honggo193 Views

Well-known for both culture and technology, Tokyo will always amaze travelers with its exceptional visuals. Creative mind Alex Lee certainly looks at Tokyo as a goldmine for reference and inspiration. Lee took on the popular metropolis by creating this video which capture Tokyo’s trademark Shibuya crossing and its jammed-packed JR train among other sites. The video took a clever way of portraying the fast moving city by conveying images through the usage of slow motion, stop motion and time lapse. Lee also beautifully added pop elements by giving a nice toy camera feel throughout the video.

meh… this was pretty run-of-the-mill, as far as “psychedelic” effects go. Tilt-shift shot of cityscape, fast-forwarded shot of Shibuya crossing, train pulling into a station, asakusa shrine, pachinko parlor, crowded train station, kaiten sushi… basically sums up every 5-minute-long internet video about Tokyo ever created.
