Guillaume Nery Underwater Base Jump

While this video may be over a week old now, regardless of whether or not you’ve already seen it, you’ll be – or continue to be – amazed upon witnessing world champion freediver Guillaume Nery take to the water in an attempt to descend into Dean’s Blue Hole – the second deepest blue hole in the world at 202 metres (663 feet) – on a single breath. His death-defying feat which is captured by countrywoman and world champion herself, Julie Gautier on a Canon 5D Mark II, is both visually stunning and frightening at the same time.

    The diver himself said it was fake. There isn’t enough ambient light at the bottom to film without lights. It’s supposed to be a work of fiction. He stated this all the 2nd day after the film was posted online.

    To @Naysayer: Zacatón is not a blue hole – it’s a cenote. Zacatón is considered the deepest water-filled pit in the world, but not the deepest blue hole. I used to cave dive in Zacatón.

    Hate to be that guy….but Dean’s Blue Hole is actually the second deepest in the world. El Zacatón in Mexico is the deepest. Nonetheless this video is dope and this guy is a legend.
