Apple iPad | Hypebeast

Apple is a revolutionary company and on paper the iPad is an amazing device, but in production the iPad does lack. Using the ultra-portable concept, the iPad could be used in school to take notes using a styulus or note taking software if the iPad were setup with an operating system, thereby making it the only fully touchscreen netbook/macbook. Apple is very innovative and I look forward to the changes that will be made to the iPad.

everybody talks down on it, but its revolutionary. just like the original iphone. it may not have everything you want, but how many products come out equipped with everything you ask for. its a step in the right direction, a much larger step then any other company has taken so far. two generations of this later everyone will have one, or be wanting one.

as for me, ill be purchasing one. having safari, iwork, email, and ebooks on a 10 inch portable device will come quite in handy, right along with my iPhone.

Was hatin then I saw the keynote. Its not just a giant ipod touch. Due to its os, size, and processor speed, its able to run more sophisticated/complex apps than the touch. These programs will also only cost you around $10.

bigger, not better. Other than making the itouch bigger, they did not come up with anything earth shattering. Maybe the second generation, looks like they got this out too fast. I was expecting more.

Everyone will want one because the desktop computer and laptop for that matter are designed for “working”. The rise of the internet and wherever the fuck you are connectivity has created a new lifestyle use that is cumbersome and completely retarded with the current equipment. I’ll gladly keep my desktop/ laptop for work related projects and carry this tool for entertainment/ personal life!

I do my research and buy the product that is right for me. Thats called being an individual. Buying an electronic device because its of commercials with catchy tunes and its sleek ‘design’ for the sake of functionality only makes you a tool. If you have an apple PC and you dont run ‘real’ apps or do anything relating to final cut pro or some other design related software, then good job, you just purchased an overpriced netbook.

Why do I want to carry this huge thing around with me if the capabilities are so limited?

The cool thing about the iPod Touch and iPhone was that they were almost like a computer but they fit in your pocket and have a touch screen. This thing loses the portability but makes up for it by costing a lot more $$$, sounds like a fair trade.

Yes it’s missing plenty of things that would have made it a “must buy” for me, but it’s far from a bad product. I would have liked to see some sort of stylus to make use of the screen as a real drawing surface (not the finger painting “brushes” app they showed in the key note). Maybe a front facing camera for video chat. A bit disappointed, but willing to wait and see what they do with it. A tool (and yes, that’s what it is.) has little to do with trendiness, “hypebeast”s and “posers”, more with usability and function. Some people need to calm down.
