The Process – Eddie Cruz

by L.A. Ruano, October 12, 2009

The highly respected Rickey Kim, founder of Evil Monito Magazine, teams up with Levi Maestro for the launch of his new web-based series The Process. In this inaugural episode, we gain a better understanding of Eddie Cruz (Undefeated/Supreme), his influence on modern day street culture and the mind behind some of the more successful collaborative projects in recent years. Offering a new and refreshing concept, The Process captures creatives in their purest form, narrated by the wise words of Mr. Kim.

Eddie’s stores have been responsible for showing us in LA what’s up before all the blogs, forums, magazines, etc. RESPECT. Before there was a Supreme store or Bape store in LA, Union was selling their merchandise. Before even Undefeated or the concept of a storefront selling limited edition sneakers, his stores had it. Stussy will always remain. Undefeated has no competition. Union will always be forward thinking. Supreme is just a beast. RECOGNIZE.

Hey NOBORU, we get the point…. Mr kim just sounds as with his “uhmmms” and pauses while he looks for a complex word to describe his feelings toward Eddie Cruz….. i learned nothing other than this mr. KIM annoys me

I think some of you guys might be missing the point… Isn’t this Mr. Kim’s ‘portrait’ of Eddie Cruz? Or do I have the wrong impression about this show?

Eddie is the man, the narrator concept is annoying…would have loved to hear Eddie in a Q & A

I feel like this should be the trailer to a more in depth interview. I love the style, and the potential… But we need more than just a perspective.

This was totally bland and uninspiring. =/ I learned nothing about eddie and heard too much of mr.kim… When will Hypebeast cover something new worth covering instead of just showing the same group of people love on the blog. bleehhhhhh ON TO THE NEXT!

Plays like an epilogue right? With the emo music and all. “He was a good man, talented, rode bmx bikes in his free time and always kept an appetite of new things that was unparalleled to the norm.” Eddie, we miss you

Been waiting for this since I saw the trailer. Much respect for Eddie, James, and UNDEFEATED.

Anyone else think Hypebeast should have a top categories of the decade lists?
