ll bean norwegian fisherman sweater L.L. Bean Norwegian Fisherman’s Sweater

L.L. Bean have dug through their 96-year-old archives to bring back this classic Norwegian Fisherman’s sweater in a simple black/white knit. Made out of un-scoured wool, which is naturally water-resistant, the restored sweat is designed to be as warm and durable as it was when sported by seafarers decades ago.

Interesting closet pilfering… but it should be noted that these sweaters get pulls WAY too easily. Zippers, fingernails, velcro – they spell doom for designs like this. Warm though, and they do pull the prep school lasses if I do say so my darn self —cheers//dom

Go buy another pair of neon colored bapes and a XXXXXL white t-shirt homo. You know nothing about fashion or garment making.

I love seeing these old-timey pieces coming back. My father had this exact sweater back in the 80’s when I was growing up and it was amazingly crafted and warm. These are the types of pieces that are made of the highest quality materials and are hand made (this one in Norway) slowly and with care. Unlike a lot of the companies that claim to do the same nowadays, this piece actually delivers. It strikes the same vein as loopwheeler, who may not have the warmest fleeces, however the ones I own are so expertly and finely crafted that any loss of warmth is irrelevant because of the superb design, fit and craftsmanship that goes into producing such pieces. I must say that it is really nice to see that your website is bringing these wonderful items to a whole new generation of younger people who are brought up to believe that the brand name on something makes it worth the money. I know this shirt was profiled in GQ and that may be the only reason it is getting this kind of recognition here on your site, but I would love to see the spotlight on companies like L.L. Bean, that despite their mainstream place in the market, never skimp on the quality and care they put in their products and designs.
