Nike SB Blazer Elite x Sub Pop Records

Seattle music label Sub Pop made its name for being perhaps the first, but certainly the most influential grunge label, having signed the likes of Nirvana, Mudhoney and Soundgarden. In 1995, the label sold 49% of its stake to Warner Bros. which makes it not overly surprising that the once anti-corporate label has now collaborated with Nike Skateboarding to produce a Quickstrike Blazer Elite. The shoe is bright yellow with black suede,  a grey stripe and a star for detailing. Naturally the Sub Pop logo makes an appearance and features on both the heel and insole. Available now at RMK.

Looks like Nike is slightly biting converse’s style. I think they look great though. I am a fan of funky, bright, ugly sneakers anyway.

Erik T. Re: Star Point well taken, but the inspiration is likely from SP’s 45 -single label design.

Cool kicks, but anyone else find it curious that the star so closely resembles the Converse logo?
