As one of the brand’s most well-known offerings, the 574 from New Balance is due for an update this season. Originally created as a shoe comprised of the scraps of its older brother the 576, Ryan from h(y)r Collective shares with us a pair that he received that features updated materials and construction to reflect the shoe’s rich history. With a new creative team coming on board the last few seasons, the New Balance 574 here gets an update in the form of a more technical use of materials including reflective properties thanks to Schoeller in conjunction with nylons, suedes and metallic leathers. The midsole also gets some contemporary updates such as ABZORB and high-density PU footliners that wick moisture. With this re-branded 574, the shoe will now see a much tighter distribution and be available only in select retailers starting later this year.

It’s about time they fix up the 574. The NB made in the UK are top notch and a few of the made in the USA are as well. The standard shelf models may be a bit cheaper but the materials and quality make them look like Crap!!!
