skamlouis vuitton toronto 01 Skam for Louis Vuitton Toronto

From the looks of it, Louis Vuitton will be commissioning a selection of graffiti artists in tribute of their Stephen Sprouse campaign. News broke out of Reyes (Seventh Letter Crew) involvement with the San Francisco store yesterday and now we get a look at some work done by old school writer Skam on LV’s Toronto retail location. Stay tuned for further news in the coming weeks.

    Props to Skam for keeping it classic and clean. His can control is crazy…that old school readable style just won’t die! It reminds me of Zeph…these guys have been able to parlay their graffiti skills(techniques) into getting paid.(not just fame) All the other “elements” have been doing it for years….everything has moved from subculture to pop culture. I remember years ago a graf writer at my art school said…’Graffiti is gonna be the new pop art”….the door has been kicked down.

    Yall are killing me!!! since Marc Jacobs came to LV in ‘97-’98, he has continuously pushed the envelope for a brand known as being “traditional.” It’s the biggest and most well-respected house in the world, and will be because of its innovative concepts. But haters keep hatin! It’s the way of the world…

    lol. corporate goes hood. a great step for the awareness of the hip hop subcultures and a thumbs up from “the man”. personally it was bound to happen. hip hop and its elements were bound to become a trend. i mean lv isnt the first to put on. Chanel brought in vinyl toys to advertise to our culture. I’m sure those of you who live in NY remember seeing the Cubrix Chanel bear. Or maybe im just into toys like that? My point is that hip hop defined a big part of our generation the 80-90’s babies and now that we are getting older we are the ones making the money. Hip Hop is soooo cool. lol. its a little nauseating that something that ive grown up with and felt so connect to is becoming a trendy thing. i cant hate tho cause everyone is entitled to their hustle. and at the root of it all if there as even a 1% chance that someone is putting it on cause they reallty appreciate the culture than i say its worth it.

    This LV love of hip hop is a tribute to old school days when cats like eric b and rakim, and doug e fresh rocked the shit out LV and gucci. Just cuz kanye is wearing it now means shit. Can’t deny old schoolers rocked that shit before he was out of grade school. Plus if you’re gonna fake the funk who better to do it with than SKAM!!!!

    LV should stay in there own business and not try to earn some dough through a subculture who hasn’t got anything to do with it…

    @Fresh

    “other streetbrands” you make it sound that LV is a streetbrand wtf :’)

    Just because you wear alot of something does not make you a specialist nor give you the qualifications to just take over that field.

    How did LV go down bc of Kanye? That was one stupid mens sneaker. Marc still has the clothes on point. Fuck an LV bag or shoe- but the clothes are amazing.
