nike sb dunk low brooklyn projects 1 Nike SB Dunk Low Premium Brooklyn Projects

Los Angeles-based Brooklyn Projects hook up with Nike SB on a pair of dunk lows, which are the first of three scheduled releases. The kicks take inspiration from a skateboarding glove used in the late 70’s to early 80’s. Combined with an interesting array of colors, white midsoles and gum bottoms, this premium release is slated to drop at Brooklyn Projects in February with other retailers following in March 2009. Kix-Files now has a handful of sizes in their online store for those interested in pre-ordering.

Thanks for getting back on this BP.
I do know how SB works, but no, I myself have never tried to do anything with Nike (yet.)
This is the beauty of the internet age, being able to voice opinion’s directly to the people who produced the collab is amazing. And yes, the year-in-advance work schedule of footwear is not the best! But, i think now going forward Nike SB should start to stray from the videogame/old movie/whatever it may be theme’s and just get back to good colorways. like brown/orange box colorways you know? Sorry for drawing this out so long.

I believe the C1RCA collab looked better, but hey, I definitely can’t hate on collab with nike. Just the colorway seems too much.

SawOne…..don’t think you know how Nike SB works…if you’re a shop and are given a chance to color up a shoe you NEED a story/theme behind it…its been like that for the last two years. Also this shoe was designed over a year ago…we have another dunk mid coming out that we just finished thats not slated till Spring 2010.We would just love to color up some dunks and hand them in …so much easier but they ( Nike SB ) want a story behind it.As far as the critisism…we don’t mind at all…everyone has an opinion but when someone critiques without knowing what they are talking about ( not you) its funny and a bit ignorant but EVERYONE has their opinion. Also…thanks for the comments.

Wrong? How so? You’re quote was pretty straight forward, BP

I love the dunk, but pastel colorways are out man. I’m not knocking whoever did the shoe colorway, but bro, it’s 2009… Let’s see some new direction in collab’s, and not the same tired “i’m going to make a theme-based shoe” routine that was played out last year. I’m a actually a footwear designer so i’m not a complete jack ass on this subject. I believe you are taking critisism a bit too harshly.

Hey, style is about creativity. If someone doesn’t like the design, then take it as constructive criticism, or at the very least, an opinion. I’m pretty sure that that is the foundation that makes this blog unique, the mere fact that it captures opinions from a plethora of perspectives. I never liked multicolor shoes, I need a base for my attire to compliment, and I believe that my focal point is the shoe. So, sorry BP, I’m just not a fan, I would’ve thought that opinion is respected, not scrutinized. Yo, someone answer me this, why do you care what the next man wears? Are you an attention whore? Just a question.

To quote SawOne….IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS SHOE YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY GUILTY OF LIKING SKITTLE COLORWAYS AT ONE POINT IN YOUR SHOE COLLECTING LIFE!
Wrong !!!! But if you were a fan of this style which I think everyone has been or still is…to diss the colorway and write it off is kinda fucked up…especially due to the fact that this colorway has a story behind it…its actually a colorway of a glove Sims made in the late 70’s. Point is everyone has their own opinion…but to harshly write this colorway off is ….fucked up. But oh well…it will sell and the ones that hate can wear something more sophisticated.

Ehhhhhh… there cool…. you gota not be afraid to try new things to wear these that and be secure in your sexuality… LOVE the bottoms!!!! But overall I’m waitn on the CAROLINES you dig!!!!!!

    To quote BP:

“Also funny is that the people that don’t like the colorway are the ones that played out and started the whole “skittle” thing”

This is just funny. IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS SHOE YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY GUILTY OF LIKING SKITTLE COLORWAYS AT ONE POINT IN YOUR SHOE COLLECTING LIFE!

btw, is this “certain type of skateboard glove” happen to be thunderwear gloves?

  14. Posted by: brooklyn projects on January 13, 2009 at 1:37 am

This is a response as to why we chose the rainbow/skittles type of coloring…the inspiration comes from a certain type a skateboard glove worn in the late 70’s eraly 80’s. Thats the concept behind it. We are not just coloring up something just for the sake of it. Also funny is that the people that don’t like the colorway are the ones that played out and started the whole “skittle” thing. We are dropping these at the end of Feb with a special gift with purchase. Other SB retailers will see this premium dunk mid March. Thanks for the comments on the first of three shoes with SB and Brooklyn Projects

Haven’t seen a dunk worth buying in a while.

The Reeboks that look like the Air Yeezy’s had a bastard son with the Nike McFly’s from Back to the Future? Even they look better than these…

  18. Posted by: marv albert on January 13, 2009 at 12:58 am

these are pretty nice, but im always amazed by how many people are all about dunks. last pair of dunks i bought were the rayguns and in my opinion there havent been many since that are better. any time there’s a new dunk posted on hypebeast there are more comments than on any other posts. i dont get it. i guess it makes sense that i dont get chuck taylors either. i dont want to wear the same shoes as the guy next to me, but to each his own.

  19. Posted by: lamekill on January 13, 2009 at 12:30 am

suede, leather, and canvas build. cool colorway. im actually more disappointed to learn that the brooklyn projects companys is based out of cali. btw, williamsburg isnt wack, its just nice. i live in bushwick (aka the hood) brooklyn and i would rather live where people dont get robbed all the time.

  20. Posted by: rod on January 13, 2009 at 12:26 am

nothing about the shoe says brooklyn projects. blinding eyesore and very unusual cw choice.

    Nice. Sb’s making a come back? Hmmmmmmmm…

  22. Posted by: jbernard on January 12, 2009 at 11:32 pm

P.S. These are just remixed Rasta Dunks.

  23. Posted by: jbernard on January 12, 2009 at 11:31 pm

Nike SB. Its shoes are no longer unique, and charmingly essentric. I remember when they would release the most cleverly designed shoes, which incoreperated a neat mix of offbeat colors, with the most elegant and rare materials. They never felt like assembly line, mass produced claddings, they carried the fit and finish of one off hand crafted works of art. But now, they’re “cool” at best, nothing really special. 6.0 Premiums. They feel mass produced. I’m not even hating on those who are new to the scene, cause’ I dont care. I want that unique feel back. Its a charm that SB quickly lost. The Sea Crystal dunks were my favorites, by the way.

Just respect opinions. Personal taste is personal you guys need not fight. I agree that the shoes aint nice.

  25. Posted by: birdfeed on January 12, 2009 at 11:09 pm

I can’t believe that anyone would even consider wearing these…

  26. Posted by: ------------------------------ on January 12, 2009 at 10:44 pm

these represent the wack part of brooklyn – williamsburg. made for hipsters and fucking homos. Dom if u reading this can you justify what inspired you to put out these hot pieces of poo?

  27. Posted by: Pranay on January 12, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Now ask yourself… will you ever see any living one in Brooklyn Projects wearing those?

  32. Posted by: DETROIT FRESH on January 12, 2009 at 9:15 pm

these are far from rainbow kicks but again the harsh effects of over saturation making it hard to distinguish the cool from the crap. these are nice. i got a new thing for dunk lows.

  33. Posted by: Cubs Suck on January 12, 2009 at 9:10 pm

nike took a L on these. They look like womens shoes. NO THANKS

  34. Posted by: LBP on January 12, 2009 at 8:51 pm

    These are nice.

  41. Posted by: SawOne on January 12, 2009 at 4:02 pm

    GARBAGE!

when are people gonna realize that rainbow shoes suck?

As for kevlar laces, i developed that 2 years ago and it doesn’t work! a waste of money for nike to invest in it.
