Debuting three years ago as the world’s first intelligent sneaker, the adidas_1 continued on a concept which began over 20 years ago with the legendary Micropacer as the shoe set to combine computer technology with performance. Within the heel area of the adidas_1 Smart Ride is a small micro-computer which goes far beyond earlier computer meets running shoe efforts as it makes over 4,000 calculations each second to enhance and modify the cushioning of the heel. Other techs include adiprene+ in the forefoot for a responsive ride as well as a full body upper for comfort and breathability.
