In welcoming the autumnal season, Grand Seiko had previously unveiled its “Yuka Momiji” time-teller, which featured a mood-enhancing textured dial that’s reminiscent of Japanese lacquered wooden floorboards. Continuing to celebrate seasonal transitions, the Japanese watchmaker just released the SBGW303 watch, which goes by the name of “Mount Iwate Autumn Dusk.”

Similar to other former Grand Seiko references that draw inspiration from Mt. Iwate, the SBGW303 stars a finely textured dial that emulates the mountain’s ridgelines. Mt. Iwate is near the Grand Seiko mechanical watch studio and naturally becomes one of the main sources of inspiration for the watchmakers. This time around, the dial arrives in an olive green color, which references the mountain’s autumnal hues as observed around dusk, specifically during this time of the year.

Attired in full stainless steel, the timepiece has a case width of 36.5mm and is paired with a matching metal bracelet. It’s powered by the in-house 9S64 mechanical movement, which provides it with a power reserve of 72 hours as well as 10 bars of water resistance.

With only 400 examples made, the “Mount Iwate Autumn Dusk” SBGW303 watch will retail for £5,500 GBP (approximately $6,856 USD). It will be officially released in November as an EU exclusive. Keep an eye out for more information regarding its availability on Grand Seiko’s website.

In case you missed it, MB&F’s third M.A.D.1 wristwatch comes in a vivid green colorway.
