COMME des GARCONS has released a new series of wallets for their 2008 summer campaign. For the Japanese brand, their popularity has slowly leached into the mainstream and has been aided greatly by the creation of various sub-lines catering to different demographics and budgets. A look at their latest wallets include various embossed patterns such as numbers, letters and other patterns. Available now at select IT stores in Hong Kong.
The B-Jirushi Yoshida partnership featuring Beams and Porter has revealed a new series of wallets as part of their Exotic Leather collection. the wallets incorporate rare materials to offer a well designed luxurious wallet. The two newest styles feature diamond python skin and Kanae crocodile skin. New from Comme des Garcons are these plaid wallets. This wallet which comes in two colors has a nice black leather interior coupled with a traditional plaid exterior. The wallet measures 12.7 x 11 centimeters has four slots for cards, a coin pouch and of course a place to store your cash. Available now at Colette for 130 Euros.
The brand Futura Laboratories has recently released some hoodies and messenger bags using the artist Futura’s Pointman character. Now, here is a new item from that series which is a Pointman wallet. There are four styles available each in a different color and with a different Pointman character. Each will retail for 9,240 Yen and are now available at the FL shop in Japan.
Retailing giant Zozotown will release their own set of personally designed Porter accessories next year. The Stads Leather Collection (most likely a typo for stud) includes two wallets and a coin purse, all crafted of high quality leather and pierced with a square studs. Japanese artist Madsaki has been making a ton of noise lately with a hand in projects such as the Hennessey Devilclot Store and his own exhibition All Day I Dream About Sunsex. Babekub City loves to give the ‘beasts’ what they want. G1950, the design label from Japan, has released some new items from their Fall 2007 Collection which includes a collaboration with Porter on a Textile Wallet. The wallet uses a material that is often seen on furniture pieces. The combination of this fabric on the wallet makes a nice combination. Graffiti artist Madsaki has put his creative mind to work on series of wallets with Japanese accessories and leather purveyors Jam Home Made. The two wallet styles are available including a women’s long wallet. Madsaki has been hard at work as of late, recently coming off a stint designing the decor of the hit Devilclot Pop-Up Store.
