Alphanumeric Calculus | Stacks Skateboard Deck

Alphanumeric Calculus | Stacks Skateboard Deck

Cultural innovators Alphanumeric rose from the ashes/came out of retirement to step back into the limelight with the same bold graphics and provocative statements which earned them many accolades at the turn of the century. With a series of experienced people at the helm, this comes as no surprise as their love for cornerstones of culture such as music and knowledge have translated into their design work and branched out into mixtapes. The first deck seen after the jump is the Calculus deck. A monogram of math symbols can be seen. Among their future releases is the Stacks skate deck which despite the 2D nature of photographs in general provides an interesting perspective. Available this holiday 2008.

Harold Hunter Day 2 Skate Deck and Tee

Harold Hunter Day 2 Skate Deck and Tee

On May 17th, over 500 skaters and spectators got together at the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark to honor and celebrate the 2nd annual Harold Hunter Day. In conjunction with this event, the non-profit Harold Hunter Foundation teamed up with the Zoo York Institute to design a limited edition Harold Hunter Day II commemorative deck and t-shirt, featuring pictures of Harold taken by acclaimed photographer, Giovanni Reda. Both are available at select New York retailers including Rival, Autumn, Everything Must Go, Richmond Hood Company, Blades, DQM, and Homage. Also, a special bundled kit including the deck, t-shirt, and a signed copy of Reda’s “Harold Hunter: The Book” is available exclusively at KCDC. All proceeds will be donated to the Harold Hunter Foundation. This is a great opportunity not only to honor the legendary skater, but also to give back to the community.
