With the growing popularity of the track bike movement, track frames are quickly becoming the hot topic for customization among a growing list of alternative templates for art coming to fruition as of late. From electronics to sneakers and surfboards, track frames merge together the world of art and consumerism. For the upcoming “Pressure” art exhibition put on by Cinelli bikes and RVCA, Barry McGee’s bike seen here joins a list of artists including Ashley Macomber, Clare Rojas, C.R. Stecyk III, Dan Murphy, DMOTE, Jesse Geller, Josh Lazcano, KAWS, Madsaki, Phil Frost, RVCA founder PM Tenore and Stephen Powers. The inaugural showing is set for June 19th, at RVCA’s flagship store in San Francisco with subsequent trips to Austin, Texas, the home of multiple Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and his newly opened store Mellow Johnny’s. The Barry McGee set is limited to 50 sets in three sizes, 54, 56 and 58. The set of 50 will be divided into 25 complete bikes ($3,700 USD) and 25 frame-only kits ($2,100 USD) and for sale only through RVCA and Mellow Johnny’s. Source: SuperTouch

RVCA got together with Barry McGee and Cinelli to produce a fixed gear bike frame. This will be a very limited edition with only 50 bikes on sale, coming in 3 different frame sizes. It has graphics placed on various places of the bike with a RVCA and Cinelli badge on the front and different facial expressions down the middle. There will be a RVCA x Cinelli exhibition in June showcasing the bike. It’s always fun to see clothing brands put their spins on other products. Source: La MJC
