The new shoe was made with (PRODUCT) RED which is a program to help fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis. Inspired by the (PRODUCT) RED project, Dr. Romanelli went out to create a band-aid motif Chuck Taylor. According to Supertouch, Dr. Romanelli said:
“The 1HUND(RED) Artists project really motivated me to create something unique and I choose the band-aids as a fix for positive change.”
Aside from the unveiling of Dr. Romanelli’s sneaker, a high octane exhibition included other artist created footwear and artworks including Hiroshi Fujiwara (Japan), Jeremyville (Australia), Michael White for Dondi White (USA), Colletivo Design (Brazil), Grandpeople (Norway), Mike Schall
(USA), Supakitch (France) and UPSO (USA).
In addition, Lupe Fiasco was there at the party for some live performances. For those who missed out, you can check out the party pictures at Supertouch.
