Bape founder Nigo was on hand today as Bape Hong Kong was at the center of two huge celebrations. As previewed yesterday in a series of t-shirts, both the 15th anniversary of Bape as well as the 2nd anniversary of Bape Hong Kong were given tribute. Three different styles of tees were on hand including a special t-shirt available for signing by Nigo. This should mark the end of an extensive visit by Nigo and crew in Hong Kong as this trip has seen not only the celebration of various Bape anniversaries but the throwing of the successful World Wide Bape Heads 2008 Show as well.
As previously mentioned, the World Wide Bape Heads Show which will have performances by Kanye West, N.E.R.D., Nigo and the Teriyaki Boyz will be taking place in Hong Kong on April 10th. Here is a look at the commercial for the upcoming show which is an neat animation with all the performers drawn in a Bape style.

Japanese hip-hop group Teriyaki Boyz just debuted their newest video for their latest single, “Zock On” featuring Pharrell Williams and Busta Rhymes. The video’s premise basically takes random “fun” items featured in the beginning of the video, and are again shown throughout the whole track. As always Bape products are adorned on all Teriyaki Boyz members. There’s also a cameo by Nigo, and Pharrell shows us his versatility by doing the track’s hook in Japanese. Produced by the Neptunes (Star Trak), the “Zock On” single will release on 3/19/08. The video can be seen over at Youtube.

On the heels of an article regarding John
Jay & Hiroki Nakamura comes some old school footage regarding the Harajuku movement as created and shaped by some of the biggest names to come out of Japan’s fashion industry. Last Orgy2 represented a video segment in which the likes of Hiroshi Fujiwara (Fragment Design), Nigo (Bape), Jun Takahashi (Undercover) and Hikaru (of Secret Base) would speak and offer insight on topics that they found appealing. Among the videos is a showcase of Nowhere, a store founded by 2 Go (Nigo) and Jonio (Jun Takahashi). Although the store originally sold exclusive and hard to get items, their lack of sales led to the creation of their own personal lines. A further compliment of videos can be seen through Youtube user piroshiki99 here and here.
