Jordan Brand is showing Europe some love with an upcoming Spiz’ike release. While the Spiz’ike is the most favorable Air Jordan hybrid yet, we do anticipate some competition from newly created hybrids like the 6 Rings model. These Spiz’ikes are slated for a Europe only release next month in a black/gold colorway. Look for Paris’ Opium to be among the retailers.
The latest installment of the Air Jordan Collezione (aka Countdown Pack) was released this weekend. Featuring the previously never retro’d Carmine VI and the XVII. With the much sought after status of the Carmine VI, we expect this pack to be memorable for that model alone. Available now at Eastbay.
The Air Jordan 1 Armed Forces pack will be releasing this upcoming Saturday May 24th. Two different colorways (one in a walnut and the other in a medium brown) will be releasing in this pack that commemorates Michael Jordan’s brother’s service in the US Military. Both of these Quickstrike releases will be available at all 3 Southern California BLENDS locations.
We’ve seen several Nikes exclusively made for celebrities such as Kanye’s Air Yeezy, now it seems that world famous film director and hardcore NY Knicks fan, Spike Lee, has also joined the ranks. The custom Air Jordan Spizikes uses black and white as base color with the Knick’s signature blue and orange as accent colors. Definitely a nice pair of kicks to sport if you’re Knicks fan.

The Spiz’ike has been one of Jordan Brand’s more successful mash-ups as predecessors such as the Dub-Zero slowly fade away into obscurity. The original release of the Spiz’ike campaign saw somewhat comical colorways. However, the Spiz’ike has matured nicely allowing for solid colorways to come through. Black and gold together can often do no wrong as the sneaker is relatively minimalistic with hints of gold. No word yet on availability.

The latest episode of Kix and the City’s videocast show “StockRoom” takes an in-depth look at Jordan Brand. Maze takes time to review the Air Jordan 6/17 Countdown pack and “White / Red” Air Jordan XX3. This episode also features the first part of an interview with Gentry Humphrey, the Director of Footwear at Jordan Brand. If the past, present and future of Jordan Brand interests you, this video is well worth a watch.

In celebration of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Jordan Brand is releasing this special edition Jordan VI. The colorway is obviously inspired by the Olympic rings, but the shoe also features other interesting details. There is patent leather used throughout the shoe, and there is prominent design stitched onto the toebox. The MRSP of the shoe is reported to be $150, and it should be releasing on June 7th, 2008.

Legendary Nike designer, Tinker Hatfield, responsible for the majority of Michael Jordan’s most popular signature sneakers has succeeded throughout the years not only based on immense talent but an extraordinary imagination as well. The original Jordan V design was inspired by the P-51 Mustang, a WWII fighter plane used by the Tuskegee Airmen combined with a rendering of a Grey Nurse Shark on the midsole. Keeping this theme alive, strong military colors are featured included with the addition of shark eyes and the initials MJJ on the side standing for Michael Jeffrey Jordan. Surely to be a collectors item in the future, these are now available at Jordan Flight Club with a price of $175.
The Air Jordan 1 has undergone a series of themes in the last few months which will luckily culminate in an anticipated OG colorway release later on this year. However for the time being, from recent army inspirations, a “Father’s Day” model has been slated to release in June. The black/white upper features a clear Swoosh and herringbone like materials along the side and toebox. Estimated release date is June 7th, in time for Father’s Day approximately a week later.

Here we go, the next fusions to make you drool or spit. This time it’s an all American colorway of red white and blue in time for the Olympics. These mids far surpass the black Air Jordan V x Air Force 1 Lows we’ve seen on other sites (which look 100% fake). These actually look decent, but hopefully they wont release 10 more colorways, keeping it somewhat subtle.

First came the Dub Zero. Second, the Spiz’ike. A third time is no surprise from Jordan Brand. The latest hybrid from the Jordan camp is the 6 Rings model. This shoe is a clash of every sneaker His Airness wore while stacking up those Championship rings in the 90’s for the Chicago Bulls, not to mention some of Designer Tinker Hatfield’s best work. We can clearly see a mixture of the Jordan VI, VII, VIII and XI, XII, XIII. The first color way to release will be a Concord AJXI inspired masterpiece with another Black/Red (pictured) version in full production form set to release after. Expect these to hit Jordan Accounts starting November.

Within the last year, the Air Jordan 1 has enjoyed quite a bit of attention from Jordan Brand. It has been seen released under various different styles and colorways all culminating with the apparent drop of OG-esque Black/Red High later this year. Until then, here’s a look at an upcoming sample Walnut Mid Limited. The shoe features a walnut/white upper with armed forces insignia embroidery on the heel.
